
"Death Takes A Woman" - Käthe Kollwitz

Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945) was a German graphic artist and sculptor
associated with the Expressionists. Her subjects were usually tragic with a
strong social or political content. In 1933 the Nazis expelled her from the
Prussian Academy (she was the first woman member). She is most well known for
her pieces dealing with death.
