Social Media Drupal Modules, Part 1

The first in what will no doubt be a long series of posts — discovered these courtesy of Phil Glatz, faithful NoEnd contributor and occasional HyperArts collaborator:

Addtoany: implements Add to Any’s Share/Save widget which adds a series of buttons below blog posts (and any other content types you select), so that readers can share, save, bookmark and email content to Delicious, Digg, Facebook, Twitter et al.

Twitter: allows Drupal users to associate one or more Twitter accounts with their Drupal user account, display tweets in a block on their user profile page, and post to their Twitter account when they create new content in Drupal.

Finally, on a Drupal-ish note (almost typed “node” there, force of habit), Michael Kay of the NoEnd list flagged a module for WordPress that provides content type customization similar to what Drupal offers with its wonderful and often-used Content Construction Kit (CCK) module — it’s called Flutter, it’s courtesy of the interactive agency Freshout, and the module and a video tutorial can be found at the link above!

I am debating the merits of Drupal and WordPress for a new website and I appreciate your updates on how to incorporate social media with Drupal. Can’t wait for future posts!

I have a little ideas on how to manipulate WordPress, but I don’t have much idea on what to do on Drupal. Each time, Drupal users increases and become popular, as a social media marketer, I should have learn to used Drupal too. Thanks for this informative post and looking forward for your next posting.
